This is my first time participating in the Olympics so I'm quite nervous, but I had a blast writing this fic so I hope it's enjoyable to read as well! Note that it's an AU loosely based on NieR: Automata, but absolutely no knowledge of the game is needed to read this.

(In a dystopian Earth inhabited by powerful machine lifeforms, androids fight relentlessly to reclaim the world their human masters had to flee from. Fai, a quick-witted scanner model, is tasked with a dreadful mission involving a combat model named Kurogane. Will his new partner be able to give Fai his long-lost hope, or will they remain forever trapped in an endless cycle of life and death?)

I never played NieR: Automata, but my friend explained it to me and I really liked it how you mixed its elements with Fay and Kurogane! I also cried a little.

You did an amazing job. I really enjoyed the story. I think it was a super unique take on the prompt even though it was a bit subtle. Though perhaps it was more powerful for its subtlety. I cannot stress how amazingly real you managed to make the world and how natural the characters were inside it. Again, amazing job!

Great debut fic!! I was glad to see that this year you were participating and eagerly awaited your piece for the competition and you did not let down! I never played nor even heard of this game before you wonderfully laid out the world for us readers. I loved your pacing and the steady build up and repetition that lead to the climax.
I do want to know what happens to these two when they do meet up with the kids and what they decide to do as a little rag tag fam all out in this crazy pointless war torn world.
