The theme for the 2019 KuroFai Olympics has been chosen - Sea vs Space

 

Signups will be on Dreamwidth and open on 13th May and close 25th May.

 

Mods this year are Peaceful_Fury, Animangod and Flowerspeaks

Fanart is always welcome and if you poke me once it is drawn I can link to it from the official accounts.

The only exception is that the chosen olympic participants do need to submit a fic for their prompt and not fan art.

Just as a quick question - how rigid are the themes? Like, can I set the fic in what used to be a sea but is now a dried up desert, for instance? Or someone travelling towards the sea/space while still being on land/earth?

The themes are whatever and how ever you interpret them! Its all very subjective and thus should be used as a source of inspiration.
Remember to have fun- that is the most important part!

Are we going to know the prompts same day as signups or before?

Historically I think prompts go up after Sign-ups when the final teams are announced.
We were planning on releasing them and final teams released on 29th May.
Let me chat to the other mods as we could maybe do it earlier.

We do! The plan is to give writer 8 weeks. So posting would start about 29 July.
