Announcing: the Kurofai Exchange multimedia gift exchange program! Sign-ups open!
So, hello again guys! It's been a little while since the Olympics, and what with the totally exciting announcement that more Tsubasa Chronicle is on the way, I thought it might be time to try a nice fandom bonding experience in the footsteps of the Clamp Secret Santa!
"But Reikah," you might exclaim (if you are the exclaiming sort), "It's.... really not even close to Christmas."
You have a point, you observant individual! It's nowhere close to Christmas! So this isn't a secret santa, kind of like how there is no fight club. You know, that fight club. It's simply a collection of excited Kurofai fans coming together to exchange fanworks in the middle of summer out of the goodness of their hearts, and this post is where you come to sign up for said Kurofai exchange!
How does it work?
Everyone is welcome to sign up, but you must be prepared to contribute a gift for another individual. Unlike our past fic-heavy contests, anybody is welcome to sign up with any digital creative format they like.
What do I mean by 'digital creative format?' Well, it has to be something postable publically on the net - so fanmixes, art, stories, tumblr edits etc count. Gift vouchers, 'pick a doujin off ebay & I'll buy it for you,' figurines etc do not. This is me officially announcing that we are not encouraging anybody to give out their real address or details, okay? Also, and I just want to point out that you guys are like the only crowd I'd find it even necessary to say this to, but an eyeball is not a suitable gift.

So, getting back to the original bolded question: if you scroll down this page you'll find a sign-up template. Copy/paste this into a comment below (remember anonymous comments are enabled, you are not required to sign up for a dreamwidth account to participate). You are also required to email me with your name and a link to your sign-up comment. Your email address will not be shared with ANY third party without your express permission, but as this istotally not a secret santa an secret fanwork exchange, I do need a quiet way to contact you all to hand out assignees etc.
Sign-ups are open for ONE WEEK. Next Monday, July 7th, I will use an internet randomizer tool to assign people giftees at random (with some caveats, see below). You will produce a fanwork for your giftee, and then contact them in the manner they requested in THEIR sign-up sheet, as well as myself, with a url to wherever you posted your fanwork publically. All fanworks will be due by August 18th (although you can post them earlier than that if complete), two days before the continuation is published!
The sign-up template:
Please enter your preferred alias/handle in the subject line, therefore mine would be 'Reikah'. In the body of the comment, copy/paste the following, but delete the stuff in brackets:
Name: (What you would like to be referred to as, for people not on DW who use other websites)
Likes: (What elements you like to produce/receive in your stuff, eg Rule 63, AUs etc)
Dislikes: (What things you DON'T want to receive OR PRODUCE in your gift, eg triggering things, side pairings you dislike etc)
Wish#1: (You can give 3 prompts, but your gifter will only write you one - although you might get a gifter who will try to incorporate other wish elements! At least one wish must be for a routine canonical Kurofai scenario, in case you're randomized with a gifter who doesn't want to produce specific elements eg Rule 63 AUs, Holitsuba fic etc. Samples might include 'post-series Kurofai' or 'Yama Kurofai' or 'angsty Infinity sex').

Contact me on: (This is how your gifter will message you to let you know where to find your gift. How they do this is up to you - could be replying to your sign-up comment, could be through tumblr/AO3/dreamwidth private messaging, could be through skype, could be through email if you want to share your email address here. Do whatever makes you feel safe, no judgement here.)
Once you have signed up, you need to email me on kaltia @ gmail.com (remove spaces) with your name (as in, online handle) and 'Kurofai exchange' in the title, and a link to your specific comment in the body of the email, so it appears in my inbox as so:
