Announcing: the Kurofai Exchange multimedia gift exchange program! Sign-ups open!
So, hello again guys! It's been a little while since the Olympics, and what with the totally exciting announcement that more Tsubasa Chronicle is on the way, I thought it might be time to try a nice fandom bonding experience in the footsteps of the Clamp Secret Santa!
"But Reikah," you might exclaim (if you are the exclaiming sort), "It's.... really not even close to Christmas."
You have a point, you observant individual! It's nowhere close to Christmas! So this isn't a secret santa, kind of like how there is no fight club. You know, that fight club. It's simply a collection of excited Kurofai fans coming together to exchange fanworks in the middle of summer out of the goodness of their hearts, and this post is where you come to sign up for said Kurofai exchange!
How does it work?
Everyone is welcome to sign up, but you must be prepared to contribute a gift for another individual. Unlike our past fic-heavy contests, anybody is welcome to sign up with any digital creative format they like.
What do I mean by 'digital creative format?' Well, it has to be something postable publically on the net - so fanmixes, art, stories, tumblr edits etc count. Gift vouchers, 'pick a doujin off ebay & I'll buy it for you,' figurines etc do not. This is me officially announcing that we are not encouraging anybody to give out their real address or details, okay? Also, and I just want to point out that you guys are like the only crowd I'd find it even necessary to say this to, but an eyeball is not a suitable gift.

So, getting back to the original bolded question: if you scroll down this page you'll find a sign-up template. Copy/paste this into a comment below (remember anonymous comments are enabled, you are not required to sign up for a dreamwidth account to participate). You are also required to email me with your name and a link to your sign-up comment. Your email address will not be shared with ANY third party without your express permission, but as this istotally not a secret santa an secret fanwork exchange, I do need a quiet way to contact you all to hand out assignees etc.
Sign-ups are open for ONE WEEK. Next Monday, July 7th, I will use an internet randomizer tool to assign people giftees at random (with some caveats, see below). You will produce a fanwork for your giftee, and then contact them in the manner they requested in THEIR sign-up sheet, as well as myself, with a url to wherever you posted your fanwork publically. All fanworks will be due by August 18th (although you can post them earlier than that if complete), two days before the continuation is published!

Wish#1: Post Canon KuroFay. After falling into a new world, Fay and Kurogane are cut off from Syaoran and Mokona. Fay is lauded as a newly arrived God and Kurogane is assumed to be his "keeper" (below him but most relevant mortal to him... basically Fay is his "master"). This time, Kurogane doesn't understand the language.
Wish#2: Horitsuba Gakuen. Fay-sensei and Kurogane-sensei have a rule: nothing physical unless it's in the apartment(s). Yuui is gettin' real tired of finding them making out everywhere he tries to exist.
Wish#3: Canon Compliant, Piffle arc, right after arrival. Fay and Kurogane are awkward with each other now that they're able to verbally communicate again.

Likes: Sap, heavy smut, AUs, Kuro/Fai/Yuui, angst with happy endings, happy endings in general, married post-canon either in Suwa or not, Kurogane proving he's smarter than he looks, mythological creatures that are not commonly used (I love dragons and vampires and werewolves, and will happily write it for others, but it's always awesome to see people branch out to other creatures that are more obscure), adorable adopted kid fics. I also admit that I like mpreg in the (very) rare occasions that it's done well and believably. (Yes, I'm sick and twisted. I accept this.)

Wish#1: Horitsuba where Fai finds "Tsubasa" fanfiction of them written by their students on the internet and wants to act some of it out, especially the racy scenes. Extra points for teasing Kurogane with the scarier kinks or having a mild Fai!tantrum about people killing off his twin for the sake of the story. Or him. Or whichever twin because none of the writers can seem to agree which one is Fai and which one is Yuui.
Wish#2: Happy marriage fic in Nihon. Either tiny private exchanging of vows just between them or big ceremony that Tomoyo and Sakura insisted on, either is fantastic so long as it has the feels and the wedding night.

likes: Canon compliancy; overprotective!fai + sappy!kuro; rule 63 in the sense of exploring trans and/or genderqueer headcanons.
dislikes: Suicide and/or self-harm; non-con, dub-con, sexual assault, etc.; incest; mpreg. Generally I prefer not to have to read or write fic that uses queerphobia, even internalised, as a central plot device. I'm totally fine with receiving nsfw material but not overly confident in my ability to produce it (although I can try if necessary).
wish 1: "The Steadfast Tin Soldier." That's it, that's the prompt. Fanart? Fairytale retelling? Symbolic musings? Fai reads the kids a strangely apt bedtime story? Kurogane finds a tin soldier in an antique shop? Sad? Happy? Played straight? With a twist? Post-series? LeCourt? WHO KNOWS. SURPRISE ME.
wish 2: Yama: The Untold and Preferably Non-Angsty Story. I'm not asking for fluff, because they are at war, but the idea that despite the language barrier they managed to have some peaceful or cheerful bonding moments in between battles is nice, and I'd like to see those. Bonus points if Fai manages to make lots of friends among the troops with his excellent cooking and is well-respected by all the soldiers.
wish 3: ..........I'm putting this one last because it might be a bit difficult, but. Magical girls AU? If we're talking kurofai-as-magical-girls, I'd love it if at least one of them were a trans magical girl (*__*). Equally, though, we could also be talking a Cardcaptor Sakura AU where Kurogane takes on the Touya role and Fai is Yukito (maybe Yuui as Yue???) and they get caught up in Sakura's card-of-the-week shenanigans. Likes: I am very comfortable with AU and canon fic. I do like surprises and happy endings. Rule 63 is another trope I like in fanfic. You do not have to include smut, but smut is appreciated. We need more Kurofai 69.
Dislikes: I absolutely stay away from non-con and anything that borders on relationship abuse. AUs set in school don’t usually interest me; I don’t dislike it, but I just don’t really care for it. I don’t think this will be a problem, but just to be safe I will add “no character bashing.”
Wish#1: I need Merfic. Preferably would want a canon fanfic where Fai has to use his magic on everyone in a world covered by ocean and populated with merfolk. The biology of merfolk and culture can be very creative. AU is also fine. I just would love more merfic set under the sea.
Wish#2: AU. Rule 63 request. Syaoran and Sakura are residents of a kingdom in which every person bonds with a dragon. Sakura and Syaoran’s dragons are very parental towards them, they are also Kurogane and Fai. Since Dragons and their riders are empathetically linked, so the condition of the dragon is contingent upon the condition of their human bond. Princess Sakura has a little trouble trying to discreetly hide her pregnancy until her and Syaoran are wed when her own dragon is nesting. Parental Dragons. Betrothed Syaosaku. Sourpuss Touya. (It would be neat if Yukito’s dragon was Yue).
Wish#3: An alternate timeline of Celes. Fai is not a twin but still orphaned. He was taken in and raised by Ashura. In this timeline, there are no curses or FWR. Fai meets the grumpy guard of the Princess of Nihon during a diplomatic conference. Princess Tomoyo, along with her guard Kurogane are invited to stay the long and harsh winter in the comfort of the castle halls. Over the months Kurogane does “warm” up to the stupid prince.

If you want to go dark, I’m ok with dubcon or them being aggressive/angsty with each other. Also for this I prefer no established relationship, and pre-Celes if you’re going with canon.
Dislikes: Either of them permanently dead, mpreg, infidelity, queerphobia (internalized or otherwise), ukefication, Kurogane and Fai in any combination that is not exclusively with each other (and by Fai I mean Tsubasagang!Fai, if you want to use Yuui as his name, that’s obviously ok), magicless/modern AUs.
Wish#1: ‘Deleted’ world or scene – you can pick any cover art you fancy, and go wild with the worldbuilding! Alternatively, a deleted scene in known worlds would also be great – I’d love Outo or Yama UST.
Wish#2: One of them got stranded from the group and meets the AU counterpart of the other (+ points if the world storyline/setting has myth/fairytales references). The one stranded ends up gaining a lot of insight on the other.
Wish#3: Canon AU with Rule 63. Though I wouldn’t say no to hot lesbian ladies, I do want to see a het canon AU with badasslady!Fai .

Likes: Hurt/comfort (preferably with Fai the one being hurt) adventure, family relationships.
Dislikes: Good people being written as bad people (i.e., Ashura being an abuser, Tomoyo being a jealous bitch, etc.) rape, m/f incest, adult/child, A/B/O. Do not *dislike* but am not particularly interested in porn.
Wish#1: Kurofai or KFY with the characters as Jaeger pilots: the twins as one set of pilots, Kurogane and Tomoyo as another, etc.
Wish#2: Kurofai where Ashura is still around and is supportive and parental (in a potentially scary way)

Likes: Angst, Hurt/Comfort, Twins, Eyes, Mythical creatures, Canon. AU is gold, technology, magic, badassery, sucker for balance, protective over family, KuroFai, FaiYuui, KuroFaiYuui. 'Just one of Mokona's 108 Secret Skills', Yuuko being ... Yuuko, Kuro being wise, Fai embarrassing the father and or son, realism in a place of phantasm (things that take an hour take close to an hour not five seconds and so forth)
Dislikes: Anything that even can be seen as non-consensual, making Fai or Kuro strictly submissive or strictly dominate, is picky about my rule 63, so would make some but not in the mood to receive some, also suicide and self harm has triggered me recently into a bad attack so nope none of that. When time rules are 'broken'
Wish#1: I would like to see more of the world where non magicals are invalids so that Kurogane is the only 'invalid' of the TRC group and can't use their 'hi-tech technology'. And also EYEPATCHES ~*hearts*
Wish#2: On their post-Clow adventures, the boys meet their parents in the same world. The rest is up to you. Just...AU parents *w*
Wish#3:Magical beasts or magical girls AU or Canon/STCorp/HGAcademy adventures. Angst or happy anything along those elements, even porn with plot it's all good~
