2015 KuroFai Olympics - Scores and Wrap-Up Post!

2015 KuroFai Olympics Poster by cloverflynn

Congratulations, everyone! The 2015 KuroFai Olympics is officially closed! We could not have done it without our teams of writers, our pinch-hitters; our proof-readers and betas, our artists who created posters and banners, our readers and voters, and all of the CLAMPers who spread the word and spread the love! Thank you so much to all of you who participated, and especially to our hard-writing members of Team Fantasy and Team Sci Fi! Once again, you've made this one of the most fun and exciting events to visit the KuroFai community, and I want you all to be proud of yourselves and what you have achieved.

Our scores are in, and as per precedence, they were very close indeed; the KuroFai Olympics is always a tight competition, regardless of theme, and this year was no exception- the difference in the final score came down to 0.9 points! Without further ado, the winning team of the 2015 KuroFai Olympics is...

TEAM SCI FI!

With a final team score of 26.6 out of a possible 30, Team Sci Fi oh-so-narrowly came out on top, but Team Fantasy weren't far behind with a final team score of 25.7!

As you can see, it was extremely close, and both teams should feel incredibly proud of themselves for producing some amazing and beautiful entries.

I've put together some voting statistics for you as well, as you can see below:

Vote Tally Graphic

And the overall ranking graphic, like so:

Overall Ranking Graphic

All entries were voted for in three possible categories, being prompt fit, writing quality and overall enjoyment, each scored out of 10; the overall score for each entry was derived from the combined average totals of these scores, for a total score out of 30. A penalty of -2 was applied to the combined total score of incomplete entries for either team.

Our highest-scoring entry was Long and Lost, by Team Fantasy's [personal profile] caffeine_buzz  for the prompt Apocalyptic, with a total score of 29.6; A Sum of Many Parts by Team Sci Fi's [personal profile] cloverfield  for the prompt Repairman & Customer came second with a total score of 29.3, and The Devil's Brew by Team Fantasy's [personal profile] mikkeneko for the prompt Cafe came third with a total score of 28.9.

The entry with the most votes was Have Mercy by Team Fantasy's [personal profile] zelinxia  for the prompt Soulmates with a whopping 18 votes, followed closely by The Soulmate Project by Team Sci Fi's [personal profile] arisprite  for the same prompt at 15 votes, and both team entries for the Cafe prompt, being Flip the Tables by [personal profile] aythli  for Team Sci Fi and The Devil's Brew by [personal profile] mikkeneko  for Team Fantasy, also for 15 votes each.

The entry voted the best fit for the prompt was a draw between Long and Lost by Team Fantasy's [personal profile] caffeine_buzz  for the prompt Apocalyptic, and A Sum of Many Parts by Team Sci Fi's [personal profile] cloverfield  for the prompt Repairman & Customer; both entries scored 9.9 out of a possible 10 for this category.

The entry voted the most well written was Long and Lost by Team Fantasy's [personal profile] caffeine_buzz  for the prompt Apocalyptic, with a score of 9.7 out of a possible 10; the entry voted the most enjoyable came to a draw between Icarus by [personal profile] farenmaddox  and A Sum of Many Parts by [personal profile] cloverfield , both for Team Sci Fi, and both with the highest possible score of 10 out of 10.

All the scores here are averaged out from the main spreadsheet, which is absolutely massive; it's way too big for me to try to screen-cap or post it here, but if you would like to see your stats, just drop me a PM with your email address, and I'll pull up your stats for you. Additionally, if there are any other stats or scores you'd like to see me add to the main post, please let me know in a comment down below; I'd be happy to add them for you!

I hope everyone has had a wonderful time with this year's Olympics, and I hope we can keep the event running in 2016. Thank you all so, so much for participating and making it a fantastic event for KuroFai fans across the fandom!

What an awesome event and what an awesome bunch of fics! Thank you for organising everything, Clover. You've done an amazing job and I enjoyed myself immensely. And congratulations Team Sci-Fi! -claps-
Oh my goodness I still haven't sat down and read Long and Lost, though the tab has been open on my computer for like a week, but now I'm especially eager to. I think the diversity and quality of fic was seriously good. I can't wait for next year. :DD

Wow, what a fantastic contest we had this year !

A million cheers for cloverfield, for being an amazing moderator. Your hard work paid off so well, and I appreciate you so much.

Hats off to our Contestants, as well. MAJOR kudos to aythli for filling two prompts, and to our esteemed mod, who not only took the role of pinch hitter on TOP of organizing this thing, but knocked it straight out of the park with one of our highest-scoring fics to boot. And last but not least, caffeine_Buzz, for another amazing Olympfic this year-- I still need to read this one, but I'm really looking forward to it. congratulations!

Thanks again, clover, for a great Olympics season. It's been magical .

I can't believe it's over D:

Hah, I would have placed so much higher without an incomplete penalty, too! *shakes fist at self* Ah, well, by the time I actually got the necessary inspiration it was impossible to meet the deadline. At at least I eventually DID complete it! *pats self*

Good motivation, perhaps, to work harder for a next time. :x

Yours was one of my favorites this year, and I'm incredibly glad you found the time and motivation to finish, even a little late. If you want to participate again next year, I will be looking forward to seeing what you can do!
