2016 KuroFai Olympics Official Voting Guide

Because we love to slap the word 'Official' on things!

This handy guide will explain how you, the reader, should score the fics, and who is allowed to score the fics. Please read it over, as we are sure it will answer a lot of questions you might have. Still have questions after reading it over? Feel free to ask in the comments section, and we will get back to you as soon as possible!

What is the rubric for scoring?

Each story should have the official rubric included in the post, but here it is for your reference anyway:
1. How in-character was this fic? (1-10)
2. How well did this fic handle the prompt? (1-10)
3. How much did you enjoy this fic overall? (1-10)

We usually tally up the results for each question separately, so you don't need to add it up into an 'overall' score.

Can I comment as well as score?

YES, PLEASE DO

Our writers will definitely want feedback and praise in addition to scores, so if you have some time, leave a few comments about what you liked the most. You can say as much or as little as you would like. Our writers would love to hear from you.

If the story is hosted on AO3/FF.net/etc, should I leave the comment with my score there, or here at DreamWidth?

Please leave it here at DreamWidth! Our authors have the option of posting their completed work on other sites, like AO3 or similar, however they must also have a post here on the KuroFai DW community that contains a link to their story, along with the scoring rubric. Please comment on the DW post in order for your score to be counted.

I don't have a DreamWidth account – am I still allowed to vote?

Yes, of course! You can use the 'anonymous' comment feature but but BUT please remember to leave a link to where we can find you. We will not count completely anonymous submissions from unidentified parties. Just a tumblr handle or similar will do.

Ex: 'This was great, I loved it!'
1) 9 of out 10
2) 7 out of 10
3) 10 out of 10

Should I score all 14 of these masterpieces?

If you have the time and desire, then go for it! The more the merrier! But if you feel like you only have time for a few, then we humbly request the following: score both stories that fill the same prompt, if you can. It helps keep things balanced between the two teams.

Can coaches score?

Like always, German has the perfect word for this: Jein!

In short, yes they can but with a few restrictions. They cannot score the stories they personally coached, nor can they score the story that fills the same prompt on the other team. They are definitely welcome to score the stories that they weren't involved with.

Is there a due date for scoring?

Yes, there is. All scores need to be submitted by 11:59 PDT on Friday, August 26th Friday September 2nd.*  We will cut it off there so that we can tally, average, and announce the winners on Saturday!

Um, I still have a question???

Leave it in the comments below, we will get to it as soon as possible!
