2017 KuroFai Olympics - Prompt Claim Post
Hello authors, and welcome to the Prompt Claiming Post. This year, the prompt theme that was chosen for the Olympics has been "Idioms."
As idioms are of course quite specific to the language, the potential for confusion, conflict, and unintended meaning between different cultures is high! A saying or metaphor that means one thing to one person could mean something quite different to the other.
And the prompts for this year are....
+Birds of a feather
+Costs an arm and a leg
+Turn a blind eye
+A red herring
+Out of the frying pan, into the fire
+Trial by fire
+When it rains, it pours
Authors, please claim your prompts in the comments below!
Strictly speaking, the prompts are first-come first-serve; however, in the spirit of teamwork, please discuss with your teammates and work out a compromise if there are two people who want the same prompt.
In addition, there has been a request for clarity from a few people as to how the POV restrictions for the various teams work. So, here's a call to bring some logic to this competition.
For Team Dragon, they are any primary figures in Kurogane's life up to and including Kurogane, regarding the particular fic. For Team Phoenix, they are any primary figures in Fai's life up to and including Fai, regarding the particular fic.
One example might be Ashura for Team Phoenix or Tomoyo for Team Dragon, for instance if the fic carried a bit of canon relationships. However, Tomoyo might be more of a primary member and thus fitting for a Team Phoenix story, for example, if they both work together while Ashura might play a primary role in a Team Dragon story for example if he adopted Kurogane. It all depends on how the writer chooses to show the relationships in their story.
And naturally, as this is a KuroFai Olympics, there does need to be that element to the stories shown as well. But as we all love KuroFai here, I'm sure that won't be the hard part.

Or also relevant, does "Team Dragon/Phoenix" mean that some interpretation of a dragon or phoenix must be part of each team's work, OR is Dragon|Phoenix just shorthand for Kurogane|Fai POVs? ((I.E., is the scoring going to include "matches theme of dragon or phoenix" or will it be instead "sticks to kuro or fai POV"?))

It's really hard to tell what prompts are still available, but I'm going to try "birds of a feather" for Team Dragon...? If someone already has that, please let me know and I'll pick whatever's left.

Team Dragon has "A red herring" and "Out of the frying pan, into the fire" still available.
((Team Phoenix peeps have "Costs an arm and a leg", "Turn a blind eye", and "Out of the frying pan, into the fire", if anyone wants to know.))
