kurofai | 2014 Kurofai Olympics: Trope claim post!

Hello again guys! It's time to post the tropes we'll be using for this year's Olympics, but first let's check the team lists! This has changed since the last time you saw it so please check the lists carefully to be sure which team you're on!

sotongsotong, both of whom deserve all our thanks for bowing aside for later entrants and who are both guaranteed places next olympics. Let's have a round of applause for them all!

Now, instead of vague one-sentence themes for you to interpret at your leisure, the aim of this olympics is to have a crack at well established fanfic cliches. There are seven cliches/tropes below, and it is, as always, first come first served! To claim a trope, please comment below IN YOUR TEAM THREAD. Do NOT reply to this entry directly!

(As with last year, I've included some details of this year's tropes on my journal, [here] for those of you who don't recognize them or aren't familiar with them).

Trope claiming will be open until 0:00 PST/ 8:00AM GMT on Saturday 22nd March, when writing will begin. Please feel free to trade tropes amongst your teams. Anybody who has not claimed a trope by Saturday will be automatically assigned one, so get in while the getting's good! You will have three weeks to write, and fics will be posted started from Saturday 12th April continuing until Saturday 19th. If you are not going to be able to post during this week for any point, please let me know so I can schedule your posting dates accordingly.

Also I really am sorry but I've already committed to the idea and I'm really thankful for your understanding.

I'll be honest, I'm crying a little. The plot bunny I got for dopplegangers was just That Strong. But I can't change the fact that there's something like a five hour time difference and I was at work when the tropes were posted. It just means I write my bunny for the sake of ficcage itself instead of for the olympics. Now I just have to hope I can figure out something for the tropes left...

I'm still offering to trade the 'amnesia' prompt with you. I know it's not doppelgangers, but see if you can experiment with your plot bunny to work with this prompt.

I am totally good with Rule 63 trope. It is one of my favorites, trust me.

I'll take that if you're truly willing. I have no clue what to do with amnesia (not compatible at all with the bunny, so I'll write an outline on that and shelve it for now) but I'd be more comfortable with that than rule 63. Nobody deserves to read a fic where the writer begins each typing session by sneering at the word doc and saying, "Hello there, you malodorous inane sack of illiterate doggerel."

No problem at all. Now to wait for Reikah to update the list. IF you still see other prompts you like, you can negotiate with that person. But for now, 'amnesia' is all yours. Good luck, and I'm sorry things didn't work out as you would have liked.

Naw, I'm fine. I whined at my cat and then ate some chocolate mints and I'm good to go. My cat's confused (okay he's really just asleep because he's used to me) but I think I've got a possible start for amnesia. ^_^ And I'll just remember the time difference problem next time there's a fic challenge of this sort and be more careful. Or skip work that day. Kurofai is way more important than a silly job, right?
