Hi guys! Just a reminder that we have a week to go until the end of the Olympics voting period! We still have an unfortunately low number of votes, so this is notification that, after much discussion, I have decided to amend the Olympics voting rules so that authors can now vote. Obviously, some restrictions apply:

Authors can now vote on other fics in the contest

You are still excluded from voting for your own story and that of your direct competitor (the other person on your theme)!

Please vote for both your own team's and the opposite team's story!

This measure has been prompted by the fact that some fics still have just one or two votes. Since votes are supposed to be averaged, I would like to see at least five votes per fic if not more! Please go vote!

Warnings: Implied violence, Kurogane's foul mouth, and my sad attempts at drama (and my equally bad attempts to get this thing posted correctly)

A/N: Nightingale flooring is an anti-assassination measure used in some of the old palaces in Japan, where the nails in the floor are designed to rub up against a jacket or clamp and make loud “chirping” noises. Considering how often Shirasagi seemed to receive unwelcome visitors, it's almost certain that they'd employ this method. You can find a sound file on wikipedia. This is probably the underlying source of that cliché in all bad ninja movies where the ninja walk on the ceiling or walls.

Author's notes: Many thanks to my girlfriend who cheered me on while writing this! You could say that this fic suffered a little from being written during a busy time - you will not find well-researched biblical Babylon, for example, but a quite standard model of a villain fort called Doom Castle. This started out very serious-like and fluffy and it may have had a plot; then it seemed to just fly the coop and turn to slapstick and head smashing into wall, snippets of daily life. Warnings: Lots of dirty talk and awful jokes in addition to sexual situations. Also some violence, but mostly of slapstick quality.
Author's notes: 16,000 words exactly! Aha!
There are two jokes at various parts of the fic lifted from 'Oglaf,' bonus smutty geek points to anyone who spots them. There are also some scenes that owe a lot to snopes.com, and others that borrowed from the speeches of prominent libertarians. I think that's all the credits; carry on.

This is probably the worst fic I have ever written. Not necessarily 'worst' in terms of quality of writing, but 'worst' in terms of... well, see for yourself.
( A ninja wizard, a magical automaton plushie, and a soulless artificial construction of magic who would later turn out to be his own grandfather, none of whom were currently in possession of their own bodies or even technically their own species, walked into a bar... )
