Well, it's been a while since the Olympics, so I thought I'd throw this here as a fun community event (don't worry, this isn't the summer challenge/contest, I'm still ironing that out).

Welcome to the Kurofai headcanon meme!

What is a headcanon? A headcanon, for those of you not familiar with the terminology, is "An idea, belief, or aspect of a story that is not mentioned in the media itself, but is accepted by either the reader themselves or the fandom in general. If it is confirmed by the author of the story, it becomes canon." (Thanks, urban dictionary!) Examples might include 'Fai has terrible metabolism, his feet get very cold' or 'one of Mokona's 108 techniques is Vibrate Mode' or anything else you feel is true but never confirmed in the text. Not all headcanons are worksafe.

How it works:

You leave a comment with one of your Kurofai headcanons. You can do so signed into a dreamwidth account or anonymously, for those of you without dreamwidth accounts/with embarrassing headcanons.

Someone else will write a short story based around your headcanon, and post it as a reply to you.

In short, it works a lot like clampkink - but for headcanons rather than kinks!

Anonymous commenting is enabled, but you do not need to post headcanons/stories anonymously if you don't want to. I'm also going to go ahead and label this post NOT WORKSAFE preemptively, so please be careful browsing where your computer access is monitored! Stories can be as long and short as you like, and as SFW/NSFW as you feel like, or, if you prefer, you can fill with fanart instead - both are excellent. Unfilled Headcanons
Kurogane's father trained him the way Kurogane trained Syaoran.
Kurogane had a case of performance anxiety before he and Fai had sex the first time.
Kurogane is a virgin. Fay is not.
Kurogane takes particular notice of how Fai smells. Fai changes soap and Kurogane has to work up the courage to ask him to change it back.
Fai starts to experience some of Sakura's memories after C!Syaoran stores her feathers in his eye.
Fai and Yuui were born on a national holiday; this is considered an ill omen for Valeria
Kurogane accidentally kills his father during the fall of Suwa
Kurogane & Fai resettle Suwa post-series, and Kurogane grows his hair out like his father
Kurogane has a well-worn notebook filled with terrible poetry. Fai enjoys flipping through the pages and trying to guess which world each was written in.
Holitsuba - Kurogane and Fai keep tracking of whose on top with different coloured condoms. Fai steals Kurogane's in order to top more.
Fai slept around in Ceres (with men and women), but Kurogane is his first steady significant other.
Holitsuba!Kurogane hums to himself when he's in a good mood.
Fai is a creature composed out of magic, rather than human.
Kurogane's conscience sounds A LOT like Tomoyo.
Kurogane was devastated by Fai's 'good morning, Kurogane'.
Post-Clow arc: When Sakura and Syaoran went into the tube o'doom, they left their bodies as empty shells on the floor. Touya found them, and moved them into a long-term care wing at a hospital; waiting for their souls to come home again.
Fai is musically gifted, and every song he plays represents a specific memory/event from his life. Kurogane comes to realize this without Fai knowing it.
Kurogane is the worst boyfriend ever.
The other dimensional versions of Chi, Hideki and the twins live happily.
Fai was a virgin until he met Kurogane because Ashura-ou had some non-fatherly feelings towards him and though he couldn't openly have Fai he could stop others from even thinking of approaching Fai, and none dared to oppose the king.
Fai is uncomfortable with the Japanese way of bathing where everyone just strips naked and soak together.
Fai knew that he would live much longer than Kurogane and while traveling with Tsubasa!Shaoran has been trying to find a way for Kurogane and him to share the same lifespan.
Kurogane is loud in bed.
Kurogane and Fai shared a tent in Yama; Fai felt dirty after being assaulted by soldiers and begged Kurogane to clean him. They had sex regularly after that.

This is...probably not quite what you wanted but I started writing and the angst words happened so...

He feels it in his bones, even before his eyes can see. The sky has opened, the boundary between this world and the next ripped clean of its fastenings, and the weight of a thousand lifetimes of guilt rushes down upon him. The ground beneath his feet trembles and the trees bend in submission - a familiar sight and expected deference to the great lord peeking through the curtains of time and space to offer absolution.

Absolution is easy. All he has to do is wrap his fingers tightly and squeeze...

He's always known Kurogane will not go quietly. Always known that life will not simply seep away from someone who clings to it as ferociously as Kurogane. Still, he's not prepared for the hate and rage that sear through every blow that lands against him. He's not prepared for the sickness that wells in his gut as Kurogane's eyes glaze over and grow dim.

How long have they shared this bed?

Apparently long enough.

The shock of cold greets him long before his consciousness manages to collect the farthest-flung of its extremities. The remnants of a fire smolder to his left, but whatever warmth they might offer is quickly frosted over by the icy terror crystallizing his veins.

He's alone in an unfamiliar world, hungry, and too cold to fully recall the circumstances of his arrival. Kurogane-

Kurogane is dead, and the children-

He chokes on his breath - it's flinging itself far too rapidly from his lungs to keep pace - and curls into himself, small and desolate on the forest floor. It's better this way, he tells himself, with this much carried out-

"Oi."

The stars overhead shift into focus, and some semblance of warmth floods back into his cheeks. It suddenly occurs to him that not only is the smoldering fire much warmer than he'd thought, but it also appears to be snoring...

He jerks himself into a sitting position, hauling his knees to his chest and clapping his arms protectively around them. What in the hell? Slowly, the shadows sharpen to reveal a slumbering form across the way, and enough color seeps in to highlight the white snoring bunny perched on its shoulders, rising and falling with each breath. He exhales heavily and relaxes enough to let his chin drop against his knee. Dreaming, again-

"Are you-" Kurogane coughs behind him, "Can I-"

He slumps backward, knowing well enough now that there will be someone to catch him. Kurogane sighs loudly and rolls onto his back, dragging Fay up and onto his chest. Fay digs his face into the fabric of Kurogane's traveling cloak and bites back a sob.

"Nightmare?" A warm hand threads itself through the roots of his hair.

"Mmm."

"Sorry."

Fai lifts his head. "I'm sorry. Probably kicked you again-"

"No. I was up - had to move you a bit so..."

"Oh."

"Yeah." Kurogane presses a kiss to the crown of his head, and Fay feels some of the gloom lift. "Can you sleep?"

"I don't know," Fay admits. The panic has thawed somewhat and released its grip on his stomach, but the emptiness there is all the more palpable for it. The hair on his neck refuses to stand down, and the cold bites at his fingertips. It's far from comfortable, and yet-

His cheek is warm against Kurogane's chest, and the soft thudding of his heart is reassuring, even as it fights to be heard above the nighttime din of the forest. Yes...if he concentrates enough he doesn't even need to hear it, just melt into the gentle undulation that ripples across his cheek. He breathes deeply and slides a hand beneath the hem of Kurogane's shirt. Kurogane hisses at the cold, but cups his own hand over top. Fai's fingers sink into his skin, searching, seeking-

There.

The quiet lub-dub against his ear is echoed in the pulse pattering against his fingertips, solid and constant. An anchor, a metronome. It beats out of time with his own, which probably makes for terrible poetry, but in the moment it is everything he could want. Separate, discrete from himself - there are two here- no, four, as Mokona's snoring is quick to remind him. The darkness feels less empty.

"I'm going to stuff a sock in that manjuu."

"Be nice."

"Can't make me."

Fay balls his hand into a fist and playfully bops it down against Kurogane's abdomen, enjoying the sudden rush of his pulse as he does. He curls himself tighter around Kurogane, effectively pinning his arms to his sides and locking a knee over his thighs. "Pillows don't talk."

The low grumble Kurogane makes in reply is almost as reassuring as his heartbeat.

That nightmare was terrible (god, Fai, will you ever be able to sleep peacefully?) but Kurogane just letting Fai stick his freezing cold hands under his clothes to find his heartbeat (and encouraging it with his own hand on top) is just perfect. ♥
